Awesome!

Today was awesome!  Today I got up at 8:30 to skate.  I was really tired but I got up anyway, (I shouldn't be tired at 8:30!) So lately my dad has been taking all of us to the gym.  We've been working out so hard!  Everything is so sore right now!  But working out has given me a BIG  boost to my skating.  We've only been working out for a week or two but I can already see the improvement!  My jumps are so much higher and faster! (They could always be better) but they are a lot better than usual!  So today at the freestyle I landed all of my double jumps in my program!  It was the best run through I have ever done!  My next competition is in a little more than a month.  I am very confident and ready to compete!  I will be going today to the public skate and will be meeting one of my skating friends there!  We'll try to be focused and get a lot of good skating done! (Instead of goofing off!)   Post more soon!!

Thanks

Synchro Results

So of course you remember that I had a synchro competition on Saturday because I've mentioned it so much!  Anyway we were competing against 9 teams in total and we sadly got last, but all fourteen girls on our team, Clarity, were totally fine with our scoring. Obviously we were disappointed but we just enjoyed being out on the ice and having a great time!  And there is another synchronized skating competition in February that we are all super excited about and pretty confident about!   This was the best week of my entire life!  We had so much fun!  I'll see if I can upload our syncrho video so it might take a while but I'll post it on here if I can! :)

Thanks

So excited for Synchro!

As you can see I changed my background for this blog.  I just found this background yesterday as I was going through the different backgrounds trying to get something new because the pink one (I think) didn't quite fit for this blog.  Anyway today I got up really early and went skating.  I landed all of my doubles and did my program a couple times, but I didn't do it with my music.  Not much to say today but just to remind you AGAIN, (for like the thousandth time) the syncrho competition is now in two days!  Today we will have to start packing for Michigan!  I am so excited!  Also after we compete we get to go over to our grandparent's house!  This will be a fun weekend!

Thanks

Exhibition!

We had an exhibition today at our ice rink.  Today was the first day I had to do a solo in an ice show! I
was so nervous!! I was the eighteenth person to skate out of 25 other soloists. I watched and cheered on my friends when they went (my sister also went too!) They all did such a great job!  I was really scared seeing all of them doing so well and thinking about the consequences of me falling.  I don't even know why I think about this because if you fall people just feel bad and cheer you on more!!  And another reason for my nervousness was that there was no practice ice before you got on.  So I had to do my axel and my double jumps without even warming them up!!  Once it was my turn to take the ice I felt confident and ready.  When my music started I felt as if I was in any other practice session with no one watching me.  I ended up landing my axel and my double salchow.  I was going to do a double toe loop at the very end but first my set-up was way to fast for me, (I was probably not even going 1 mile per hour) and also decided not to because I wanted to enjoy the last couple seconds of my program, it would be horrible if you fell right at the end!  So once I finished I got a nice loud applause and I stepped off the ice.  But it wasn't over.  I still had to get ready for our synchronized skating program!  I rushed into the locker room to change into my sparkly gold synchro dress.  Our coach Deb, put my hair up in a low bun and put some lipstick on me.  Since I was one of the last soloists to go I had to hurry as fast as I could!  Almost everyone else in the synchro team had all of their makeup and hair done!  So it turns out they didn't get to finish my makeup but it didn't really matter to me, we had to get on the ice!  Our program was really good over all, we had one fall from one of our teammates, but she got right back up and skated on like nothing happened.  We finished our program to see people giving us a standing ovation! We were all so happy!  After the show I just hung out with my friends and had a lot of fun!  I'll post more soon!!

P.S Our synchro competition in Michigan is just in 5 days!!!

Skating Test!

Today was a great day!  Today I passed both of my tests!  My Juvenile moves and my Pre-juvenile freeskate!!  I did my freeskate first and then I did my moves.  I was ( I have to admit) nervous, before testing.  I wasn't quite  sure I'd pass my Juvenile moves, they are super hard and the main focus is power.  I'm not exactly what you'd call a powerful skater but I'm getting there!  So tomorrow I will be starting to work on my Intermediate moves and my Juvenile Freeskate!  I am so excited and happy!!  Can't wait to start working on them!!  Oh and a quick heads up we have an ice show in 6 days and I signed up to do a solo!  This will be the first solo I have done in an ice show!  I am a little nervous but mostly excited!  Looking forward to skate tomorrow!!  Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!!

Thanks
